Her 113-minute 7–5 6–3 victory, Giorgi’s 15th career triumph over a top 10 player, booked a quarter-final berth against Bulgaria’s world No.128 Viktoriya Tomova who defeated Belgium qualifier Kirsten Flipkens 3–6 6–6 6–4.
