Caroline Wozniacki has joined fellow Eastbourne-bound Belinda Bencic on the sidelines and will be missing from the clay court season finale at Roland Garros.
Bencic, the reigning Aegon International champion, has been missing for weeks because of her back injury and will instead prepare for Wimbledon with grass court tournaments.
The Swiss teenager, the current world #8, is not risking the clay court Grand Slam in Paris.
And the French Open withdrawal of Wozniacki, an ex-world #1, was announced via Twitter, citing a right ankle injury.

The Danish ace last played on the WTA Tour in March, following her defeat at the Miami Open.
She announced her withdrawal from Madrid and the Italian Open in Rome, meaning that she will enter the grass court season having competed in just seven tournaments this season.
Late last month the world #34 posted a tweet that showed a photo of her on court with a heavily wrapped right ankle.

And Eastbourne-bound Petra Kvitova, who dropped out of world’s top 10 this week to #12, has announced that she has split from boyfriend Radek Meidel just five months after they were engaged.
The twice-Wimbledon winner lost at the Italian Open in Rome in the 1st Round, as she did in Shenzhen, China and in Dubai.
