Sorana Cirstea

Sorana Cirstea makes her debut at Eastbourne and could be a big hit on Centre Court with her impressive all-court game. 

But her results in 2010 suggest that it will be a brief appearance at Devonshire Park for the Romanian.

Cirstea's best 2010 performance has been a run to the semi-final stages of the Estoril Open in Portugal.

However, during the 2008 grass court season Cirstea reached the second round at Birmingham and Wimbledon as well as the quarter-finals at Hertogenbosch in Holland.

She followed up with a reasonable 2009 grass court showing, with a second round defeat to Belgian Yanina Wickmayer at Hertogenbosch and a run to the third round at Wimbledon - beaten by the then in-form Belarussian Viki Azarenka.

Reached first round at 2010 French Open.

Chances of winning | Unlikely to win but could cause problems for others if given the chance to get going on a surface that she enjoys playing on. Back-to-back victories would be a moral victory for Cirstea.
