The American is an exciting prospect on her Eastbourne debut and has only played one tournament on grass, Wimbledon 2009.

But Melanie Oudin is a player who relishes grass, having won six successive games to reach the last 16 at SW19 in 2009.

Her biggest victory at Wimbledon 2009 was the third round success over Jelena Jankovic, and her only defeat on grass coming into Eastbourne 2010 was at SW19 when Agnieszka Radwanska bounced the brave battler out of The Championships 2009.
Reached first round at 2010 French Open.

Chances of winning | One of only a few of players who could be the surprise package of the tournament, and is desperate to register but is a good quality floater who may cause problems for others. Given a generous draw, could ease into the quarter-finals.
