The
giant German veteran is finding the form of his career but has yet to
get past the second round at grand slam event, so is making up the
numbers at Eastbourne's 2010 AEGON International.
Despite having never won an ATP Tour event, the left-hander has had an impressive early 2010 season so is on the verge of a place in the world's top 40 for the first time.
Last won on grass courts in 2007 at the Newport event in the United States. Reached the quarter-finals of the 2007 Hertogenbosch tournament in Holland as a qualifier, which he followed up with a first round success at Wimbledon.
Reached first round of 2010 French Open.
Realistic chances of winning // Will only progress if he faces one of many players who cannot cope with grass courts, although the wily veteran is finding the form of his life.
