Dudi Sela
June 2010 | by Monticelli
The
no1 Israeli singles player has won eight Challenger events but not
managed to turn his immense talent into results on the ATP Tour
although he finished runner-up to American Andy Roddick at the 2008 Chinese Open.
His incredibly fast speed around the court and powerful one-handed backhand will trouble those unaware of the short battler.
With a game perfectly suited to grass, his natural serve and volley style could pay dividends at Devonshire Park.
His 2009 grass court season saw David 'Dudi' Sela reach the quarter-finals at Hertogenbosch in Holland and romp through to the last 16 at Wimbledon.
Results in his breakthrough season of 2009 propelled him briefly into the world's top 30, but Sela has dropped out of the top 60 in early 2010.
Reached first round of 2010 French Open.
Realistic chances of winning // Has every chance of reaching the semi-finals, unless he faces another grass court expert.
