purpose-built new look Towner has risen like a chalk
cliff-face,
albeit one that will not erode like the natural cliffs at nearby Beachy
Head and Birling Gap. The striking building was designed
by architectural firm Rick Mather and sits to the left of the
award-winning modernist glass and concrete Congress Theatre. It has
replaced the original Towner Art Gallery that was located an
18th century manor house in Manor Gardens, in a part of Eastbourne
called Old Town, having opened
in 1923 but closed a couple of years ago. For review and exhibition

Maestro
| If you want to escape the high tennis prices for food at Devonshire
Park but don't fancy a pub then why not visit Dal Maestro. As the
nearest restaurant to Devonshire Park, a mere two minute stroll, the
welcoming staff will greet you like long lost friends even if you want

fresco. The exterior gives it an expensive look, but this
French/Italian eaterie offers good value and even has takeaway
