Johanna Larsson and Tsvetana Pironkova are last-gasp additions to the main draw at Eastbourne to complete the star-studded line-up on the sleepy south town.
But Devonshire Park regular Daniela Hantuchova withdrew from the Qualifying event following an impressive run on grass at Birmingham’s Aegon International, and will spend the week preparing to compete at Wimbledon for the 16th year on the bounce.
Larsson, the world #72, arrives back at the Aegon International having negotiated her way past Mirjana Lucic-Baroni as the Croatian retired at one set a-piece.
Swede Larsson has no grass court pedigree with one triumph in six visits to Wimbledon, which was a 1st Round Qualifying success in 2008.
In contrast Pironkova has reeled off some impressive results on grass, at both Eastbourne and SW19. The lofty Bulgarian has caused shocks over the years, and reached the 2012 Aegon International quarter-finals but last season fell to Brit Heather Watson on three sets.
